          " COMFORT and JOY "   2008

These sweet Kitties are way too good to be tempted by the Cardinals (yeah, right! ).... they do know Santa could be watching!  The Mom cat's name tag says "Comfort" and her kitten is "Joy".  (it's a little hard to see here, but on your large 24 x 18 version, it is very clear)

"  HOMECOMING  "
The family enjoyed having the Canadians "vacationing" at their pond all last year. And it was sad when, at the end of the season, they took wing and flew back north. "Would they ever think of us?" "Could they remember the way back to our little pond?
It's late November now and the kids insisted on getting a bag of grain way back in September. They've had the Goose Feed barrel full for weeks. Finally, today, as the sun set and the first snow of the season dusted the hill.....they thought they heard the familiar calls.
And yes ! They're back ! The very same geese!  Marching up the hill to get their dinner treats, as they always did.
And proudly guiding their four new goslings -- all in a row.
It seems that Kindness is Always Remembered.

ABOUT THE ART

"American Primitive Folk Art style is a natural for me.  The simple, back-to-nature, old-fashioned life it depicts is the way I actually live.  This gives me an endless supply of inspiration and ideas. And, even... models ! Missey, my real-life Jersey cow was the model for the "Give Away" painting, for example.

I create with a mix of media, predominantly acrylics, and paint on "antiqued" wood panels.  The "antiquing" process includes several layers of paint, alternated with a process that creates the aged, crackled effect that would be found on a very old, painted surface. "
